PvP & Duels
Section titled “PvP & Duels”How does PvP work?
Use /duel opponent:@player to challenge someone. They have 60 seconds to accept.
- PvP uses the same turn-based combat as monster hunts
- Equipment is ignored — duels use base stats + job modifiers only (stat compression: 0.10)
- The winner takes 5% of the loser’s gold (cap 500)
- Minimum level: 10
- Cooldown: 1 hour between duels
- Level range: ±3 levels
- Max 7 rounds per duel
Can I lose items in /duel?
No — /duel never causes item loss. Only gold changes hands (5% of the loser’s gold, capped at 500 gold).
Can I lose items in chat?
Yes — in wilderness and danger channels. Servers can mark channels as safe, wilderness, or danger via the admin /zones command. When you post a chat message in a wilderness or danger channel, the bot may roll an involuntary PvP encounter against another eligible player who recently chatted there. Lose that fight and you drop one random unprotected inventory item.
To stay safe:
- Stick to
safechannels for casual chat - Apply Guardian Seal, Soul Bind, or activate an Insurance Scroll to make valuable items unloseable
- After a loss you enter a 24-hour mercy window — you cannot be picked as a target again until it expires
See PvP Combat for the full breakdown of both systems.
What is revenge?
Use /revenge to initiate a rematch against a player who beat you in a duel. Win to earn bonus gold (50% of the loser’s gold from the original fight). The target deals 10% less damage during the revenge fight. You have 48 hours to complete the quest. See Revenge Quests for full details.
Protecting Your Items
Section titled “Protecting Your Items”How do I protect my valuable items?
Use /vault (unlocks at Level 10) to store items in safe storage (3 default slots, expandable up to 25 — costs scale quadratically as 200 × n², so the first expansion is 200g and the last few are several thousand each). Items in the vault:
- Cannot be accidentally traded or sold
- Are protected if you become inactive
Death & Defeat
Section titled “Death & Defeat”What happens when I die?
If your HP reaches 0 in combat:
| Situation | Penalty |
|---|---|
Lost a /hunt | Lose a small amount of gold (5%, capped at 50g). No item loss. |
Lost a /boss | Same as hunt — small gold loss. Boss resets; try again after cooldown. |
Lost a /duel | Lose 5% of your gold (capped at 500). No item loss. |
| Lost a chat encounter (wilderness/danger) | Drop one random unprotected item. Enter a 24h mercy window (no re-targeting). No gold lost. |
| KO’d in a party | If the party wins, you’re revived with 1 HP and still get rewards. If the party wipes, same small gold loss. |
There is no permadeath. You keep all your items, equipment, EXP, and progress. The gold penalty is intentionally small to keep the game fun.
Jobs & Classes
Section titled “Jobs & Classes”Can I change my job?
Yes. Use /jobs and select Switch from the interactive menu. You keep all progress in previous jobs.
Do I keep skills when I switch jobs?
Yes — partially. Skills from previous jobs become sub-skills that work at 70% power. This means training multiple jobs makes your character stronger overall, even if you only fight with one.
What’s the best job?
There’s no single best job — it depends on your playstyle:
| Playstyle | Recommended Path |
|---|---|
| Physical damage dealer | Squire → Knight → Dragoon → War Master |
| Magic damage dealer | Apprentice → Black Mage → Summoner → Sage |
| Healer / support | Apprentice → White Mage → Paladin → Sage |
| Speed / crits | Squire → Archer → Ninja → Assassin |
| Tank / survival | Squire → Knight → Paladin → Dark Knight |
Elements
Section titled “Elements”How do elements work?
Every monster and many skills have an element. Hitting a weakness deals bonus damage; hitting a resistance deals less.
| Element | Strong Against | Weak Against |
|---|---|---|
| Fire | Wind | Water |
| Water | Fire | Earth |
| Earth | Water | Wind |
| Wind | Earth | Fire |
| Shadow | Holy | Holy |
| Holy | Shadow | Shadow |
None-element attacks have no strengths or weaknesses — they deal neutral damage to everything.
See Elements for the full breakdown.
Guilds & Parties
Section titled “Guilds & Parties”What’s the difference between a guild and a party?
| Guild | Party | |
|---|---|---|
| Size | Up to 200 members | Up to 5 members |
| Duration | Permanent (until disbanded) | Temporary (30 min inactivity timeout) |
| Purpose | Social group, shared bonuses, guild shop | Group combat, EXP sharing |
| Bonuses | Up to +10% EXP, guild shop, guild board | Independent drops, healer auto-heal |
| Requirement | Level 10 to create | None |
You can be in a guild and a party at the same time. Guild members in the same party benefit from guild EXP bonuses stacking with party play.
