Affix System
Affix System
Section titled “Affix System”Affixes are the random bonus stats that appear on equipment. They’re the difference between a forgettable drop and a build-defining piece of gear.
How Affixes Work
Section titled “How Affixes Work”When an item drops, the game:
- Determines the item’s rarity (which sets the number of affix slots)
- Rolls which affixes appear from the affix pool
- Determines the tier of each affix based on character level
- Assigns a value within that tier’s range
The number of affixes is determined by rarity:
| Rarity | Affix Slots |
|---|---|
| Common | 0 (no affixes) |
| Uncommon | 1–2 |
| Rare | 3–4 |
| Epic | 4–5 |
| Legendary | 5–6 |
Affix Types
Section titled “Affix Types”There are 12 affix types divided into two categories:
Primary Affixes (Core Stats)
Section titled “Primary Affixes (Core Stats)”These affect your base character stats directly.
| Affix | Icon | Effect | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strength | ![]() | +ATK | Physical DPS (Knight, Dragoon, War Master) |
| Intellect | ![]() | +MAG | Casters (Sage, Summoner, Black Mage) |
| Vitality | ![]() | +HP | Tanks (Paladin, Knight) |
| Agility | ![]() | +SPD | Speed builds (Ninja, Assassin, Archer) |
Secondary Affixes (Special Stats)
Section titled “Secondary Affixes (Special Stats)”These provide specialized bonuses that scale multiplicatively with your build.
| Affix | Effect | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Crit Chance | +% chance to critical hit | Assassin, Ninja, Archer |
| Crit Damage | +% critical hit damage | Any crit build |
| Armor Pen | Ignore % of enemy DEF | Physical DPS vs. armored foes |
| Magic Pen | Ignore % of enemy RES | Casters vs. magic-resistant foes |
| Life Steal | Heal for % of damage dealt | Self-sustain (Dark Knight, Monk) |
| Cooldown Reduction | Reduce skill cooldowns | Skill-spam builds (Sage, Summoner) |
| Fire Damage | +% fire elemental damage | Fire builds, Zone 4 content |
| Ice Damage | +% ice elemental damage | Ice builds, Zone 5 content |
Affix Tier Gating
Section titled “Affix Tier Gating”Affixes come in 3 tiers. Higher tiers provide stronger bonuses but are level-gated:
| Tier | Required Level | Power Level | Available From |
|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | Any (0+) | Base | All zones |
| T2 | 15+ | ~1.5x T1 | Zone 2+ |
| T3 | 30+ | ~2x T1 | Zone 4+ |
This means:
- A level 5 character can only find T1 affixes on their gear
- A level 20 character can find T1 or T2 affixes
- A level 35 character can find T1, T2, or T3 affixes
- The tier is rolled per affix, so a single item can have mixed tiers
Practical Impact
Section titled “Practical Impact”A level 30 Epic weapon might roll:
- T3 Strength (best possible)
- T2 Crit Chance
- T3 Crit Damage
- T1 Agility (unlucky roll)
- T2 Armor Pen
This mix is normal. Getting all-T3 affixes is extremely rare and valuable.
Slot Restrictions
Section titled “Slot Restrictions”All 12 affix types can roll on any equipment slot. The slot doesn’t restrict which affixes appear — only rarity determines the number of affixes and tier determines their power.
Affix Optimization Tips
Section titled “Affix Optimization Tips”- Don’t chase perfect affixes until end-game. T1/T2 affixes on leveling gear will be replaced.
- Higher rarity = more affixes. A Legendary can roll 5–6 affixes; Common rolls none.
- Mixed-tier items are normal. A T3/T2/T2/T1 Epic is still a strong item.
- Stack the same affix across slots for maximum effect (e.g., Vitality on all armor pieces for a tank build).
